Yes, it can be done, but I wouldn't recommend you trying this yourself - it has to be done with leather dyes, not like RIT or whatever you get at the fabric/drug store. Go to a reputable shoe and/or leather repair business and have them do it. You can go quite dark; you just can't go lighter or change color families. Like, you can go from tan to red, or tan to brown, but from tan to navy or to gray would be pretty difficult (you would tend to have that warmth of the underlying color still showing through a bit). When I was on a performance dance team, we used to have to get our dance shoes dyed to match our costumes all the time. As I recall, it wasn't even all that expensive, either.... Good luck!

they do no longer must be somewhat polished or despite considering that the you at the instant are unlikely to positioned on them to a prepare. in case you do not have saddle cleansing soap or leather-based cleanser, basically wipe off the airborne dirt and dust with a somewhat damp towel. using area sand is gorgeous loose, so it particularly oftentimes is basically no longer packed on tightly. Then polish them off with a dry cloth so the leather-based would not save moist and grow to be brittle. i've got even performed it with none extra suitable aspects to have the skill to the stables as quickly as and my boots looked exceedingly respectable, despite if my palms did no longer xD. if your paddock boots have the little pads (difficult to grant an evidence for; the non-leather-based, water-resistant-ish areas) on the perimeters, scrub it with some cleansing soap water to get the airborne dirt and dust off. which you additionally can do the interior, despite the fact that it will take it gradual to dry. in case you do, stuff the boots with paper towels and pass away them for an afternoon.

if you take them to the shoe repair, they can make them a bit darker. but you can't go from tan to, say, black.
