My opinion is that you are stating nothing more tangible than your opinion. Popularity polls are sh*t and unreliable at best. You want to spout your opinion, fine. But to put it out and call it fact, that amounts to BS. My opinion is that he is no better, no worse than any other President. What might set him above the others is that the action he is taking seems to me to be something that will guarantee that this country will survive the attacks from radical Islam. That is enough for me.
Our political system is a joke anyway. We make all this noise about our candidate, how much better he/she is, how honest and "for the people" he/she is when it's all BS. Our votes mean nothing. This is the same as professional wrestling. The outcome is already chosen. They give us our monies worth with all the run-up to the general elections but in the end, the winner is already known by a select few who don't eat at the same trough as us.
So...what was your question again?

Those polls are not all that accurate anyways. I do not think he is a total failure. Most Presidents have done some major stupid things that are totally un-popular.
I do not agree with everything he has done, but I DO respect him.
I respect every President which has served, no matter if I elected him or not.
As American citizens, it is our duty to vote our leaders in to office, so if you voted and your candidate lost, you are still responsible for who is in office. If your candidate did NOT win the total vote, it is because you were not a part of the political process enough to get more voters to vote for that candidate.
How dare someone blame all the problems on the President we elected.
How dare someone blame the President when they DID NOT EVEN VOTE AT ALL!!!
I hate ignorance.
You must respect the President...but you do not have to support him in everything.
I am rooting for Condaleeza Rice in 2008, or at least Tom Tancredo. We need a woman President, sooner than later!!
And to all the critics of the war:
Do you remember 9/11?
Have you ever been the leader of the country during a horrendous terrorist attack?
Do you have any leg to stand on regarding how to handle a war?
And to democrats:
How would you handle the Iraq/War on Terrorism better?
A bunch of hot air with nothing good to share.

Your question's logic is flawed. I am one of the percentage that thinks he is doing OK and from the looks of things, most of those trying to answer your question do too. It is propaganda I think that Bush has failed. But just wait till we get a whiff of Democrats in action. Phew!

I wouldn't say he is a complete failure. His one mistake was not planning for the aftermath of Saddam's ousting. Other than that, I don't think he has done anything that bad. I've found that most of the people who find fault with Bush get a lot of their news from blogs and other unsubstantiated sources on the Internet, and then spew it back out as truth.

I think the President has done an admirable job. I also know that with nut-jobs saying these things:
"We must prepare to rule the world."
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran
"We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization."
Hassan Abbassi,
Top advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei ,
we better start getting serious and FAST!

I think the premise of the question is wrong. I guess I am one of that "very small percentage who thinks he's doing OK". In fact, I think he is doing better than "OK". Further I think you are pulling numbers from thin air.

It's not just Bush. It's a neoconservative agenda that has been in place for decades. They invaded scholarly think tanks and came up with strategies to revamp the wealth around the world and take what they could from a thriving America.
Nobody could touch America before that because the laws prevented infiltration and destablization of industries.
So here come the Neoconservatives with new plans to revamp the way those industries are conducted and sent jobs and resources overseas so they could tap the resources from over there (because the laws wouldn't allow it here).
Bush rushes to implement this agenda and then deconstructs the US Constitution so that people will be afraid and no one will complain. He'll even make it seem that the Constitution is a waste of paper, even it is the most valuable document in the entire world!
He bloated government by revamping Agencies and funneling the vast wealth of American taxes through the Pentagon so that he could pay his buddies to profit from "war" or bombardments and occupations of other nations.
When the new government examines how this travesty unfolded, they will uncover slimy officials who conducted back door deals, bribed and blackmailed Republicans and Democrats and anyone else they could think of.
The country is now in shambles and it will take the initiative of the American voters and good government to put it back together again..

Your right somewhat! They are pointing fingers at Bush for getting us into a war over oil with a people that had done nothing to America, and "yes" Bush should have gotten his facts straight, and came up with a provable reason to go to war with Saddam so that he could legally kill the enemy of his Daddy, but as usual he blundered his way to war! Then to make matter's worse, Bush didn't forsee the enormous cost of sending us to war, nor did he seem to really care, nor did he understand the amount of innocent lives that would be taken as a result. Is it his fault? "YES" it is! Bush should have come up with a plan for the gradual withdrawal of our troops once Saddam was captured, but "no" he now wants complete control of Iraq as a way of taunting his enemy. We have no business there, and we should let those people settle thier own affairs! We had a Civil War in this Country to settle our affairs, and now we have a better Government as a result, and a consistent way of life, that recognizes the diversity of the multi-racial/ multi-cultural people of this Country. We still have a few problems that we need to workout such as: Erradicating racism completly or legally, Gun control, Court reform, automatic/ systematic Minimum Wage raises, and enacting Police anti-brutality laws.
It seems apparent that we need a new Leader, as Bush has failed us as he seemingly has had "No Plan" that has been productive, practical, and prosperous for the Middle and Lower Classes of people in this Country. His policies have ultimately been very divisive and destructive to the welfare of the masses, without posing any suitable alternatives to our current or previous situations. Under the Bush administration, crime is rampant, the economy is faltering, and our response to our own people in crises( Katrina and Rita) is atrocious, and was thought to be blamed on racism/ republicanism/ compassionate conservatism! We can't truly blame anything on the Democrat's cause the Bush Admintsration has largely undone most of the Clinton Adminstration's efforts and replaced them with their own. Wake up AMERICA! It's time for change once again!!!
