What death in 2006 affected you most?
Explain why it did.
I think the death that affected me most was the death of Steve Irwin, probably because he tried to help and change the world and enviroment in a good way.
I don't care much if an actor dies, probably because all they do is simply act in movies for your entertainment, I don't think they help the world in many ways. I still don't know why they get so much attention, who really cares if an actress changed her hair color or style?
Anyway, this is my opinion, I'd like to hear yours.
Thanks for your answers, I will be choosing Best Answer.

Steve Irwin.
I know people like Steve, and sometimes I felt like I knew him. He seemed like an old, wonderful friend. I cried as much for his wife and children losing him as I did for the man himself. I feel like Terri is almost like a friend too.

My sister , my only sister died at 49 years old, on Aug 1, I dont think an explanation is necessary for you to understand why it affected me the most, but other than my own family, I was saddened by Steve Irwins death, because I really liked him, and what he was brave enough to do for our entertainment, as well as his own. I also am a little affected by the death of James Brown.
Lauras death affected me the most, who was my sister, simply because it could have been prevented and it wasnt. She was my only sister, She was my mother when I was little, she went away to the army and served for years there, and I used to write to her over seas, and then when I grew up, she was not the person I knew as a child, for a child sees things differently. I loved her, and when I lost her, I lost a part of myself. I cant even talk about it, or think about it without crying, tears forming, and usually falling. I was there. I watched her take her last breath, and knew instantly when her heart stopped, while nobody else in the room knew. Even Hospice didnt know, so I had to exclaim, What time ist it ? When I knew the time, I said, at this time, on August 1, 2006, I just lost my only sister. Then, for some reason, nobody reacted until hospice declared her dead. I thought that was odd. They didnt believe me. Sometimes, a heart just knows, and mine knew that time, that her heart wasnt beating anymore. I really didnt get why nobody else in the room didnt know, until they were told by a stranger. weird, it was weird.

Stephen. He was killed in Iraq in October from a IED. He had a huge faith in God and he could light up a room with his personality. I think his death really made me realize how much I love my boyfriend and how precious life's relationships are. He has been so wonderful to me. He joined the military right before Stephen got killed and the type of scarifice that takes is amazing to me. Stephen was a man long before he went to Iraq he was so unselfish and had been through so much in his life. But he always seem to stay his own course. That is my answer. I hope that you have a wonderful 2007!

I'm guessing you mean deaths of famous people. However I have three non celebrities that affeted me.
My "little" best friend, Ben age 4 passed away this year in april. He had terminal cancer. I was his childcare provider for a longtime. As sick as he was, he always had a giggle. I can't begin to explain how he touched many people and caused many people to meet.He passed away the night I got my certificate and offically became a foster parent. also on my best friends birthday.
My best friend Anna passed away a month after Ben. When Ben passed away, Anna said because it was her birthday, Ben was now her angel. Anna passed away two months later.
December 17th, I was pondering calling my mom who through my life taught me many superstitions such as death comes in threes. I was going to finish wrapping christmas presents then call her and say "haha Mom, you were wrong." My brother called me to let me know my mom passed away that afternoon. My mom passing away affected me because she was my foster mom as most people would call it. She took me in and gave me a home when everyone else didnt care or they were too scared. She taught me compassion and love. I am able to use what she taught me to help Ben and become a foster parent. Anna supported me all the way and always had my back.

Steve Irwin. His zest for all living things was amazing and infectious. He dedicated his life to his family and all wildlife. He was brilliant at what he did when it came to making people aware of so many animals.

Steve Irwin. It was such a shocking tragedy. Such a shame. He seemed like such a good man, a good husband and father. For him to die the way that he did was very sad.

Kenneth Lay: The man actually owned among other things 5 houses in one neighborhood. He also really believed he had done nothing wrong. I thought the timing of his death was very interesting, that's all. I wonder where he is?

My dad. It was completely unexpected. The strange thing is some of the conversations we had and some of the things we did where not the norm for us , so somehow I think on some level he knew this was going to happen. I miss him everyday and it is getting harder instead of easier.

The death of my Grandmother affected me the most. She was instrumental in making it possible for my husband and me to adopt our daughter, my daughter is named after her, and she was my best friend. She had more love in her that anyone I've ever known. I miss her horribly.
