sort of. They are not live bearers like guppies, they are egg scatterers. It is not uncommon to have danios spawn in a well taken care of tank.

if you are looking to breed, look up the species profile. There are hundreds of articles on how to succesfully breed these fish on line and in magazines and books.

Yes they can; they are easy to breed. The hard part is raising the fry to adulthood, as most of the eggs or fry (babies) will rapidly be eaten by the other fish - including their parents.

If you want to breed danios, put them in a tank with no substrate. They will scatter their eggs on the tank floor. Then you can remove the parents and raise the eggs and fry in that tank.

If you keep them in the same tank, you may be able to grow some babies to adulthood, but not very many.

Uh, yeah. Do you want to take them out of the water and have them die giving birth?!

I think so, but maybe you should look it up.
