I vote for Fabreeze (sp.??), too. Tell your wife to lighten up a bit...and be glad you aren't sitting in it still smoking.....there are a lot of ways to treat leather for odor, the same as other uphostery fabric contents. I don't know if this is safe for leather or not, but i found a germicidal deodorizing cleaner at a wholesale beauty supply house. It is called Citrus II. My own child told me that they use it in her physician's office everyday when the day is through...I use it at home on everything...kills all odors and is even effetive against hepatitis Band C. Hospitals use this, too.

If you quit smoking now you could very will save enough to pay for a new couch within a year if not just a few months. And the new couch would last longer.

A product made of black lava rocks, really, does the job. I got some years ago for the car in which my husband smoked quite a bit. After he stopped smoking, we bought this black lava rock bag and put it into the car. All odor was gone in a few days. Then, you just put it into the sun for a day and it's ready for another job.

I don't think there's any way you can, unless you've made that decision to stop smoking.
Otherwise, wrestle it out, or flip a coin to see if the couch stays or not!
