Technically marriage is a formality...a ceremony with a piece of paper that makes the process legal. In all reality you can be just as committed without getting married. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are a good example of that...

Marriage is a protection plan. It entitles you to certain things in the event of a divorce - half of assets and alimony (usually a benefit for women)...

I think most people get married because they want to make sure that the other person is truly committed and serious about being a life partner. Couples in love who want to be married generally enjoy the process of preparing for a wedding and it is a memorable moment in their lives. Marriage is a symbol of stability...

Good question. Biblically speaking, it is good for a man not to marry, but because of so much sexual immorality in this world, God ordained marriages so that a man may have his own wife and that a woman may have his own husband. So that people may avoid committing the sin of fornication and adultery. Fornication is having sexual relations by unmarried couples while adultery is having sexual relations outside marriage. Legally speaking, for the married person their conjugal properties are protected under the law

Ok. There's a lot of reasons. Love. And what else would you do? I mean...then once you get married you can live together and spend the rest of your life with the person you love most. Why not?

At one time it was to have kids but now there are so many single parents it's not necessary.
I believe you should get married to show your love to one another and in order to have a REAL healthy family, but that's just me.

You always have a date
It's the best way to raise kids
It's fun much of the time.
It's hard work all of the time
It's worth it
If you are a man, statistics say that you will live longer
If you stay together, you'll be wealthier in money and spirit than those who stay single.

lots of good reasons.
