can a felony truly be exsponged from your record?

It depends on what the felony committed. For example, felony child abuse cannot be expunged. The same applies for abuse of the elderly, arson, sexual offenses and murder.

You don't need to get a pardon from the Governor in order to expunge a record either. That's only for clemency.

You don't need an attorney to apply to get a record expunged. I know that in Florida, you have to pay an adminitrative fee to the FDLE and they can either issue a letter of eligibility or ineligibility. If eligible, then you set the court date yourself. A judge can rule for you or against you. You also want to make sure enough time has passed since the crime(s) were commited. Plus it helps if you've stayed out of trouble since then too.

Depends on the state and the situation. I know in my state a juvenile can have his or her record expunged but it still can be opened by certain parties- army, government, etc. No, it is never truly expunged. some entities can open it.

Depending on where you live, and how much you're willing to pay the Governor for a pardon. But yes, it is possible. Best of luck to you.
