It does take two to make a marriage work. I would hope that society doesn't look on people who are divorced as failures as I think we do that ourselves. Now if your not the type who is going out and getting married one right after the other and can't seem to stay married then I would think we all make mistakes and let it be at that and learn from the prior marriage and not go into another one until we have let go of all the baggage.

i was with my first husband for 8 years before we got married. we were only married for 2 and a half years. its amazing what you dont see in a person. i was young and naive. afte the divorce, i knew that it was the best thing that i could have ever done. but after i did feel lousy and like a failure. it took me a while before i trusted someone again. but 3 years later....i did remarry and never dreamed life could turn out this way. you know when the right person comes along. we have been happily married since april and are expecting our first baby in may. so there is definitely life after divorce and things do end up better.

Here in the U.S. I don't think society looks at a divorce as a failure. At least that hasn't been my expierence and I'm divorced. But I don't want to remarry, I enjoy being single and will continue to be so. I never thought of it as my marriage failing, it's just that we got married for the wrong reasons and neither one of us were made to BE married to begin with. Not everyone is. I suggest you stop acting in desperation because that will only turn women away and not draw them to you. No self respecting, intelligent, independent woman has any interest in a man who is desperately seeking to marry anywoman who came along.

I have never thought that divorcees are looked upon as failures. Some people just make the wrong choices when they first get married. Everyone deserves to be loved and happy, whether it is their 1st or 4th marriage for that matter. And yes it definately takes two people to make a marriage work. You do whatever makes you happy, it is your right. Good luck to you.

Society may look at us as failures but we are not really.Just sit back and look at the unhappy couples out there in this world.Think about it who is the failure the one who got a divorce and is trying to start over or the one who is miserable and complaining everyday about there spouse.I would love to find someone to start my life over with someday and I hope it happens but till then let people think what they want of me.

I'm a guy and I agree. Even we have to restart our lives too once we're divorced.
