Why is it when NASA shows current pictures of the moon with super lens like the Hubbel Telescope, don't they ever show a picture of 'that' flag? Do you think that they really landed on the moon? And why with telescopes like the Hubbel don't they ever show other spacecraft out there (i.e. UFO's)?

There is no way the Hubble telescope, as powerful as it is, can resolve a two square foot object 250,000 miles away. In fact, the highest resolution cameras on spy satellites, which are in about the same orbit, would have trouble resolving something that small on Earth.
In addition, there are plenty of very interesting things for Hubble to look at other than other satellites - many of the photos are on the NASA and JPL web sites - and operating Hubble is a very expensive thing to do.
P.S. It was only two astronauts (times 6 landings)- the other one stayed in orbit, remember?

It's questions like these that make me hate the education system. It REALLY let you down did'nt it Cletus?
First, the Hubbel is a DEEP space telescope. It's not designed to view the moon anymore than it's designed to view features on the earth.
Secondly, they planted more than just a flag on the moon, they placed a parabolic mirror that reflects a laser fired from the earth. It's used by dozens of observatories all over the earth every day. Are THEY all lying too?
Do yourself a favor, and get some education ok? Either that or just continue to be regarded as an utter moron...

Even the Hubble can not reslove the flag from earth orbit, the angular size is too small. Hubble might be able to resolve somethign the size of a large building, but that's about it. Why are there so many people who don't believe man landed on the moon? Do you believe the shuttle goes into orbit or aircraft really fly?

That's because our most powerful telescope (Hubble) has resolution on the Moon the size of a football field. And the flag is much, much smaller than a football field. And there are no UFO's out there. And they have nothing to prove to anyone, because only conspiracy theorists think that we didn't land on the moon, and they didn't believe any other proof that we did, they wouldn't believe a picture either. So there's no point.

Can Hubble see the Apollo landing sites on the Moon?

No, Hubble cannot take photos of the Apollo landing sites.

An object on the Moon 4 meters (4.37 yards) across, viewed from HST, would be about 0.002 arcsec in size. The highest resolution instrument currently on HST is the Advanced Camera for Surveys at 0.03 arcsec. So anything we left on the Moon cannot be resolved in any HST image. It would just appear as a dot.

Why don't you direct your question to someone who has set foot on the Moon. Here is his email. His name is Buzz. I'm sure he would be more than happy to discuss your question with you. Tell him the stars sent you. info@buzzaldrin.com

Ciao!
