the ball pit may be a pain but if they still enjoy it then it's worth keeping. You may regret getting rid of it one day when it's been raining for days and the kids are bored. Maybe compromise on some things, get rid of the plastic chairs since they have other chairs. We live a fairly small house but we make it work and there have been tons of things I would have loved to get rid of to open up some space but in the past when I have got rid of stuff, I usually wished I hadn't because something would come up where we could have used it. When my kids were little I used to purposely keep some toys put away and then I would rotate the toys in and out. When you pull out an old toy they haven't played with in a while it's almost like getting a new toy. If you decide to get rid of some things, don't feel guilty, I'm sure they have plenty of other things. Just make sure you take pictures of the stuff and sell it when the kids aren't around and they probably won't even know it's gone.

Hell no..That means getting rid of uneeded junk. If i saved everything then i would have no room at all. There is nothing wrong in getting rid of old/unplayed with toys.
My son is 5 and he has enough toys as it is. I give them away to other kids or i throw them in the trash.
I could pull a toy out of the closet right now and my son would think it was a new toy when it isn't so that is why i think that alot of toys are not needed.
They need clothes worser than toys

Nope. Ever since my daughter was old enough to talk this is something we have done together twice a year. We go through all of the toys and I ask her do you want to keep this or share it (we donater our old toys). She is sincere in her answers thankfully. Every toy she has decided to keep has been one she continued to play with and every toy she gets rid of (which ends up being a lot) she never asks for again. It makes the whole process much easier by including her. I don't have to second guess and worry if she will cry for that certain toy I gave away later.

Holy crap. Grow some balls woman!
Iam married to a 30 year old man, who was the only child, and as a child he INSISTED no one could EVER throw away a SINGLE one of his toys.
Now we're married and we have a barn FULL of worthless broken toys rotting and housing mice. He carries them around every time we move. Theres literally about 25 HUGE boxes. And the things are worthless.
How rediculous.
Throw them away, get rid of them.

I take some of my kids old 'good" toys to the nursery at church and also have a friend that runs a daycare..they also love to get replacement toys for the kids...Do not feel bad...consider it a charitable act.

I keep most of my kids' good toys in containers in my storage room. Someday when I have grandchildren, I will set up a playroom for them with all of their parent's old toys that they may play with when they come for a visit.

I would sit down with him and let him know what your plans are, he may even make it easier on you if he helps pick-out the things he doesn't play with any more. If he has a fit about it just talking about it you might have to do it when he's not around. Hopefully he will be glad to help, and it will make your life a lot easier.

Trust me he will get over it, you can help him if he is fussing by letting know that he is sharing with others that don't have any toys and see if that makes him and you feel better about the process.
