"Your friendship is more than enough to me"?

I always wondered what it meant because I say that to my friends who feel bad that they didn't give me a gift whenever I give them something for Christmas.

So what does it mean?

For me it means that they are greatful just for you being thier friend and coulden't ask for anything more precious friends are few and in between so when they use that phrase it means you mean the world to them!!!

It means that, there is no need for gifts, because the "GIFT" of friendship is gift enough. But then again, friendship is no gift, it is something you work for, and work on, so maybe it is just a flat out excuse for being too lazy to make or too broke to buy a gift.

But when firendship is enough, like a reward or gift for all the hard work, that is the clue. One year when times were hard and money tight, I made out "Coupons" for my friends and family, like 1 FREE Car Was, and Doing the dishes when I come over, and even 1 Favor Granted, they wwent over really well, and EVERYBODY held me to the coupons. So I was washing my buddies car, I had to do my girls dishes and clean her house, and The favor turned out to be loaning out my hand tools for over a week. But I did them all cheerfully, and the next year everyone was wanting the coupons, but I laughed and gave them thier gifts instead. People still talk about my famous coupons. Try it if you find yourself in that spot again.

Some people just value having friends. Friends are about spending one on one with each other, someone who helps in a crisis, an ear to bend. All this is worth more than money or a gift you feel you must give.

That you are lucky enough to be their friends, or it could be a rejection line that friendship is what you need more than a relationship of that sort.
