I watched it yesterday. in the scene where the leg lamp is delivered the dad says "fra-gee-ley" must be italian. when I watched it last week---the dad said" fra-gi-lay must be french"!!

You must have heard incorrectly the first time. There is only one version of A Christmas Story. The dad suggests that fra-gi-lay is in French everytime.
Trust me, I've seen the movie dozens of times! (Several alotted hours that I'll never get back too!)
