I gained 39lbs- had my son at 41 weeks-so one week overdue... and, he was 9lbs 10oz!!!! lol We were so shocked of a big boy-even doctors were since we were both healthy. Just remember the last month or two you will gain a pound a week- so 26lbs plus a good 8lbs will be 34lbs... not including what you gain these next couple of weeks. But dont' worry too much.... I lost 28lbs the first two weeks after having my son, and then the next couple of months lost all but 2 lbs. So it wasn't too bad! Just remember it takes some time to lose the weight since it takes time to put it all on. Goodluck, and congrats :)

I'm 18 weeks and have only gained about 5 or 7 lbs. I think I should be putting on a little more weight, though.

I thoroughly pissed off my dr. I gained all of 10 pounds! My son was born 1-6-86 and came out at 7 lbs. 8 ozs. and 21 inches long. Yes, he will be 21 in 2 more weeks.
Every woman is different. Twenty years ago, my doc wanted me to gain at least 40 pounds!

I am 18 weeks and I have not gained anything as of the last Dr appointment. However, I have another Dr. appointment on 1/3 and I am sure I have gained at least 3-5lbs by now. But I am not showing at all.

With my first child I gained 26 lbs. with my second I gained 29 lbs.
If you have concerns about your weight check with your doctor. Have them estimate fetal growth and make sure the baby is not getting too big.
The more you put on now the harder it will be too get rid of...
Adding info: Each person is different when it comes to loosing weight. Even more so when pregnant. When you give birth you will loose some of the weight...but it won't be much of it. Most people don't go into the hospital to give birth and walk out wearing the prepregnancy cloths...it just don't happen like that...that often.

I started off as a size one before my pregnancy. I gained over fifty pounds. I ate healthy and exercised a lot while pregnant. I had an easy labor and am now back in my old jeans. I wouldn't worry too much abaout weight gain as long as your eating healthy and exercising. If you breastfeed exclusively it will also help the weight fall off.

iam 36 weeks and gained 43 pounds. Iam still in a size small maternity clothing.
Its all baby weight, its just what I needed to gain in order to be healthy and have a healthy baby.
You lose like 20 pounds the day of labor. and then a ton the weeks following. As long as you only eat when you're hungry and eat good for you foods, and drink a lot of water, then you wont gain more than you can lose easily.
