PS1 had overheating on the first batch and would fail after a couple years. PS2 had even worse problems on the initial release.
I really want a PS3, but I've passed on 2 oportunities to get one. At $500-$600 I want to know it's not going to quit after a year.

If your information intails "it's stupid", "it's gay" or anything like that keep it to yourself and go back to your xbox, facts only please.

I have a PS3 and have played "Fall Of Man" for over 20 hours. No sign of overheating on PS3. The only thing I don't like is after 20-30 hrs. you need to charge up the controller again.

I heard of a couple overheating incidents but not to many besides that i think there was an error with the release ones that they wouldnt play ps2 games or at least not many but that was repaired by a firmware update.
