My experience has always bn that the landlords take care of that, unless u agree to do it. Sometimes they will cut bk on the rent to "pay" u to do it urself.

Unless you have something in writing that you are not responsible for mowing the grass it is your responsibility. As far as cutting trees down or whatever you want to do with trees that are on the property, you may want to check with the owner of the property before cutting any trees. You could be asking for a law suit!

Ask them about the grass .
The owner should cut the trees for safety reasons.

Where I live If you rent a house and have use of the yard it is your responsibility to take care of it. Check the small print in your lease or call the landlord, some charge extra if you do not maintain the yard and driveway (snow removal)

Usually these things are spelled out in your lease, but in general you would be responsible for ordinary upkeep on the property such as mowing the law, watering the lawn, raking leaves, shoveling snow, etc.

You own the house or you are renting?
If renting, you are not responsible for anything not spelled out in your rental agreement...
If you are the owner, pretty much the same rule, however, it's your investment isn't it..

When my fiancee and his friends lived in a house rental, they had to mow the grass and clean out the gutters and rake the leaves themselves.

Usually it's up to you. In past experience if you dont own the tools to do something (a rake, shovel, mower) you can ask your landlord to take a certain percentage of the cost of the tools and use it for your rent.

Did you sign a lease? That info would be in there if you did. If you didn't talk to your landlord and find out what they expect from you.
