Is that a threat? No one has forgotten about slavery, I just dont understand what kind of retaliation you are reffering to.

I think most white folk are not concerned if black folk in general have forgotten about slavery because most of us--white, black, and everyone else--live in THIS century. I have yet to hear from one white person who fears retaliation. Any person alive today who wishes to retaliate would have to be a moron seeing how slavery has not existed for over a hundred years. What's more, this "white" country went to war in part over slavery and those against slavery won.

Well, you should not forget about it, but you also should not stew about it like it happened to you personally. Just like I am not going to fear retaliation because I have done nothing of the sort. I don't care what color a person is. I go by how a person is. Come on....the world is hard enough without everyone worrying about what color a person is and going on about something that had nothing to do with you or me personally today. And by the way, I think slavery was totally wrong in every way! Not because they were black, but because they were human beings that God put here on earth. Not all whites are racists. There are alot of bad things that have happened in the past. But you have to move on and live for today and do the best you can and be the best you can be.

Slavery goes back in History and we are not suppose to forget. White people now days still answer for what the Southern Plantations did to the Slaves. Don't forget many White folks saved and helped the slaves as the traveled up North. No I do not fear retaliation. Why should we ? What about the Irish, the Bohemians. They were treated worse then the Black's. You think your Ancestors had it so bad, well there were others who did too. Did you know when Slavery began, in Africa , some of the Blacks captured their Black brothers for the White Slave owners and helped put Blacks on Ships to come to America ??
Go read your History Books. You will never forget and hopefully no one will. Peace is the word. Find Peace in your heart.

I agree with leckscheid. I get blamed for slavery by people who were never slaves even though my family wasn't in this country until the 1900's. And no, I don't fear retaliation. Only stupid people talk like that, and fortunately, most black people aren't stupid. Find something productive to do.

I really don't know. But, I was never a slave, neither was anyone in my family. So, I can't really blame the white people who are currently alive for that.
What I have a problem with is the current racism and ignorance that goes on. And the fact that a majority of white people seem to believe that since slavery is over that everything is all wonderful for blacks. They swear up and down that we have all these extra rights when we don't have any more rights than they do. They swear that since slavery is over, we don't experience racism and oppression anymore in this country.
I could go on and on... but no... I don't believe slavery is the problem anymore.
I am tired of white people bring up that it was the Africans who sold black slaves to the white slavemasters. While that is some what true, they were trying to save their own as$es. It was not them who put the slaves in shackles and packed them like sardines in boats. Beat them, raped the women and sold them off to the highest bidder. In all honesty, if it was between me or some other person, I'd try to sell of the other person too.

What have I done to you? What have any white people I know done to you. Why should anyone fear retaliation from slavery. The price has been paid already. If you still have checks to cash, you need to take a long look in the mirror. Drop the racist attitude and language, then maybe everyone will be able to move on.

No, because you bring it up all the time even though it ended 200 years ago. Have you forgotten that every race has been slaves and owned slaves at some time in history? Do you also realize that the descendants of the slaves live 100 times better than those who are still in Africa?

I recon that some people are way too touchy about things that should have been long forgotten, its really bad steriotyping of races, people think whites are racists, arabs are terrorists, asians are strict and blacks/hispanics are homeless losers.
Its sickening. NONE of the above statements are true! They are insulting! There are good and bed people in every race, but it seems that the bad is more publisized.
you never see 'white kids vandalize park' you see 'kids vandalize park. but when someone of a different background comes along its 'lebanese kids vandalize park' yet they fail to mention the lebanese honor student that has just won a really good academic prize.
everyone needs to FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!
