The location of your registry files depends on your version of windows.
If you delete the registry files, then depending on which you delete, something will stop working whether windows, or just some installed software or part of windows.

If you have a virus, you are better off getting and installing a good AntiVirus product and repairing the damage that way.
Your other option is to format the hardrive (assuming your bios didn't get infected) and start over with a clean install of windows.
Good luck.

Ok

The main registry file wish holds the info of the pc resides in

c:\windows\system32 , now if you want to view it the open start and select run , then type REGEDIT , now understand that when a virus is in the registry it means it as alocated it self on a part of the registry . You CANT just delete the registry if you do well lets just say there goes your computer , now to clean it then you need to scan your computer

Do the following:
Run --> regedit , the registry files will apperard BUT don't remove or edit any file if u don't awar because it may destroy ur computer. If the is a viruse in these files, use anti-viruse (MacAfee) or just use CCleaner application.

Can you please tell us exactly what file you think is infected? or what registry files you want to delete?
You have to be very careful editing your registry, you can really mess up your system if you don't know what you're doing.

Can you please give us more info? is it a program you want to uninstall, or is it just a file?
Are you sure it is infected? can you tell us exactly what file are you talking about?
