I have a 10 gallon tank with 4 divided Bettas in there. And I just put a 10 gallon 50 watt Heater in there for my Bettas, so I was wondering how long should I leave it in the tank?

If I leave it on all the time, won't it overheat?

Your tank heater needs to be in the tank and on all the time, 24/7. It has a thermostat so it will switch itself on/off as needed to keep the temperature constant.

It won't overheat. It will turn itself off when the water get's warm, and then turn itself back on when the water cools.

24/7 it keeps it at a certain temp that you determine! a good temp for bettas is 75-86 degrees!

Get a thermometer for it at the fish store and set the heater to keep it at the desired temp. on the thermometer

You should keep it on so that the tempature stays the same. Most fish have to live at a certain tempature.
