Because girls and women are always looking for feedback. When they're young they ask: "Am I fat?" "Do you think I'm pretty?" or say " I'm ugly" so you answer "No, you are beautiful"
After they get older, they'll do the same thing with food. Try it out with your mom, if you say "The food is great!" they respond something like "No, it's too salty." so that you say (again), "no, it's really good." If you say "It's too salty." they'll complain that you don't appreciate anything they do. I could have made this answer shorter by telling you that nobody understand women.

becaue women often have a low opinion of themselves / someone has told them bad things in the past / never complimented them.
men are the same about their tackle - worrying it doesnt match up to others and no matter what women say - sometimes men dont belive it

Sometimes they want to hear someone tell them they are beautiful but a lot of times it is low self-esteem.
