To get the falsetto (and your voice in general) to sound better, you must use proper breath support . It sounds best when you stand up straight, legs about shoulder width apart, breath deep in your stomach, not your chest. It sounds crazy, but envision that you draw your breath in through your toes, that will help you get a deep breath in the right place, with a lot of support.

When you try to reach a high note, don't strain your neck and reach up with your head; that means you are not using breath support. Sing from the bottom of your belly.

To get better at switching from your base, belting voice to falsetto, do scales every day to warm up before singing, moving up a half step each time you go through a full scale from low "do" to high "do" and back down. This will strenghten your vocal chords and range.

Good luck to you.

Studio recordings..they add a lot of vocal effects now a days, with a vocal effects processor. Seems like everyone is using them. If you don't want to use a processor, you have to practice your breathing while your singing.when I was young I tried this, but later realized that it was best to just to be original,
and use my voice the best I could.
