Couple of days ago i over done it on the treadmill (don't work out angry) and hurt my knees. Went to the doctor and he said it was just sore muscles. I've always heard to work out through sore muscles so they don't stiffen. Do i get back on the treadmill or should i just wait it out a couple days till my knees feel better? I had just sitting around.
Thanks

Sore and painful muscles in the knee often are signs of small muscle or ligament tears. Is there any swelling?
If so, use a cold compression knee wrap after exercising. The compression will drive the cold deep into the inner soft tissues and stop pain and swelling. As long as there is any swelling, there will be pain. Take it easier until the pain and swelling are gone, then work back up to your regular routine.

If you haven't been back on the treadmill in a couple of days, I'd say take some Aleve (or whatever you use for pain), do some gentle stretching, enough to warm up the muscles and then go for a slow walk on the treadmill (or outside, if that's an option). Something that you are comfortable with. Then, increase speed slowly and you'll be surprised how good your knees feel afterwards.

It's probably best to give your knees a little bit of a break...they pretty much hold your legs together :) When you decide you can't stand inactivity any longer, be very careful of your form and make sure you s-t-r-e-t-c-h! Stretching will help keep things flexible and work out any lingering stiffness. Be sure to warm up, stretch, and then stretch again at the end of your workout and any time after wards if you feel tightness settling in.

Yes you can hop back on the treadmill but at a slower pace and after some stretching, you have to ease back into the exercise. Don't forget to warm up the muscles by stretching and make some floor leg work.

you should give the knee a rest, you don't want to make it worse or hurt it more than it is now, if it keeps hurting make sure you get it checked out

You should rest a bit before going at it again. Never hurts to take a breather.
