Since you are in business for yourself, you are also a salesman for your company. Call on these prospective customers- like a salesman. Ask to see the manager, and present your desire to do their work. Have you thoughts together, and be prepared to tell him why you should be his contractor.

He will either consider what you offer, or tell you that you need to see another person who handles such things.

Before you go in, take a look around so you will be familiar with the size and conditions of the job. It's NOT like working for someone else. Think like a businessman.

You need to make contact with the general manager. Be early for your appointment. Dress professionally. Have your proposal outlined in a professional manner. You could even offer to do a small section at no charge to show him/her the quality of your work. Need to supply, if asked a copy of your insurance, bond, workmans comp (if you have employees) and a copy of your business license. Submit a written bid for cost of doing the floors. Be sure to include in there, price for buffing maintenance, rather it is nightly or weekly, depending on their usage and need. If you get approval, you will need to draw up a written contract with terms and conditions. There are several books ( by author Don Aslett for example) available that even have samples of contracts.
