I have a booklist a mile long. I don't know if I'll ever have time to read them all between two jobs, college, and what have you. But I'm doing my best. My question to you? What's on your booklist? Maybe we can swap. Let me know your top 10 next reads, and why you are spending your time wtih these books.

A new library just opened up in my town adn I cannot wait to go check it--and some books--out! I usually go and just take random books from the shelves to read. Sometimes however if I am not feeling inspired then I look at People magazine's recommendations for some good reads. Currently I have been reading a lot of works by Dick Francis.

1. 'Holes' By Louis Sachar

(This is the best book and there is also a decent {as in, not innacurate and degrading} movie on it. Its also pretty small and i read it in the afternoon so its ideal for on-the-go speed reading)

2. Any 'Lord Of The Rings' book you can get your hands on.

(Cool, deep, meaningful and with lots of different levels of meaning)

3. 'The Gift' by Alison Croggon

(An adulty-romance book that also includes romance and betrayl and what-not. I'm currently reading its sequel 'The Riddle'

4. 'Midnight For Charlie Bone' by Jenny Nimmo

(Its one of those books that anyone can read and enjoy, the books are relatively short, simple and well written. I lent it to my mum and its the only book/series she has read in ten years)

5. 'The Magic Circle' series by Tamora Peirce

(I've only started reading this series myself but they are really addicting books. In addition they are quite small and easily understood)

6. 'Furies of Calderon' by Jim Butcher.

(I nicked it from my dad only to disover that it is purely addictive. I love the blend of romance, magic and war that it concocts, one of my best reads, and with sequels!)

7. 'Artemis Fowl' by Eoin Colfer

(Humorous book about a genius boy from ireland, highly entertaining, always succeds in lightening my mood when I'm in a spot of angst or trouble. Laughable and interesting)

8. "Alyzon Whitestarr" by Isobelle Carmody

(You have to love the unique quality of this book. Its interesting and different, with likeable characters and a twisting, turning plot with so many waves of suprise that you'll need a motion-sickness tablet.)

9. 'Eragon' by Chirstopher Paolini

(The movie is such a poor reflection on the book that I could cry, its really so much more complex and enjoyable than that.)

10. 'Inkheart' by Cornelia Funke

(A really interesting book that gives you a scrap of hope that one day you might be walking among your favorite book characters. Compelling and unique with no hint of where the story may go next.)

Those would have to be my top ten at a glance. They are really great books and I feel sad that most arent very well known, but you have my word of thier quality.
