I've got just a $50 bagless vacuum from Wal-Mart. It's awesome not having to change the bag, even though I have to empty the canister like every use, it's still a million times cheaper then having to buy bags ll the time and not having bags when you need them. Also, it works plenty fine but is still only 6 months old and if it does break or stop working well, it is only $50. I don't foresee it breaking and haven't had any problems with it but I'm just saying, thats not a bad price. Just hit up any Wal-Mart, check the vacuums, look for the one's about $50, and then look for the bagless one and that should be the same one I have.

I have a Dyson 15 the Ball Animal and it's been the greatest purchase ever!! I have long, thick hair that gets everywhere and the Dyson cleans it up, no problem, without ever having to go over the same area twice. It has a HEPA filter, which is good bec. my husband has allergies to dust. Using the ball is awesome -- you don't have to move your wrists or body as much. I'm telling you, it has made my life sooo much better. I bought from PowerVacs bec. their prices are lowest.

Buy the Oreck. I used them when I was a housekeeper during the summer while in college, and they pickup everything! Event the portable canister is a great vacuum.

Invest in the Oreck. You will not be sorry!

The bagless tornado one works nicely. You wont have to replace the bags (which are hard to find sometimes) and you wont waste money on buying them.

Kirby - hands down, but they're not cheap. We've had ours for over 15 years and it can still suck the chrome...well, you get the idea!

Good luck!
