The only curse is,that most of the obelisks have been removed from their original places.
A few were given a gifts by Egypt to countries in the early days of Egyptology study and interest. The one in Alexandria, is still were Napoleon left it. As never got to make the trip to France for Emperess Josephine.
Obelisks were not usually a sacred monument but rather a record of topical,usually Pharonic related events. The largest still remains in its original spot.In the Karnak Temple complex just outside Luxor.It was erected by Queen Hatshepsut a Female Pharoah.
I have never heard or any curses being related to them.
This myth story regarding Egyptian tombs was created by the early media.It was to stir up interest in exhibitions of artifacts brought to England and America,The so called curses on places such as Tutanhkamun's tomb doorway.Is only their equivalent to R.I.P. on Christian graves.
