We have the constitutional right to have any type of gun we want. as gun ownership goes up, violent crime goes down. Mayor Daley is a freakin' idiot when it comes to firearms ownership. He doesn't know diddly squat when it comes to guns, heritage, and family tradition. Guns are an important part of my family's outdoor nature and we should have the right to carry concealed firearms in the state of Illinois and everywhere else. Maybe someone would finally shoot Mayor Daley and get a Republican mayor in there who would put things into order. There is no point in keeping our gun control laws and tightening them further. The criminals are still going to get the guns and AK-47s anyway. We also need to get Governor Blagojebitch out of office too. GUNS SAVE LIVES!

Most of the people answering this question are complete morons. We do have the right to bear arms. I don't think there should be any bans whatsoever on weapons. If I want to own a 50 caliber automatic macine gun I should have that right. As long as you pass a background check, you should be able to have any weaponry you so desire.

The fuc*ing democrats want to disarm the citizens so that they can have complete control of the country.

FYI - I am a PROUD and LEGAL licensed concealed weapons carrier in OH, and I carry a firearm with me EVERYWHERE I go.

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the Second Amendment does not bind the states, it is only binding on the federal government (which is hardly very distinct, since the Court has never invoked the Second Amendment as a reason to strike down any federal law, either).

The Constitution also says that at any time that a law is enacted that violates the Constitution it is an illegal law from the moment it was enacted and as Citizens we are not obligated to obey such illegal laws. But keep in mind as far as our government goes "Resistance is Futile".

curiously they are afraid to open their mouths on those themes. i'm vote casting for a democrat yet I see marriage as between opposite sexes. i think in the main concepts-blowing to possess weapons. I see abortion as killing a individual.Abortion is the main in humane, chilly blooded, egocentric, barbaric act of guy variety. some democrats experience this manner and distinctive Republicans extremely do have self assurance in abortion. Roe vs Wade replaced into finished by employing greater often than not Republican appointed Judges which legalized abortion.

guns save lives? riiiiight..... and am I to gather that pigs can fly now too? If it is the case, I wonder why gun crime is so much lower in countries that ban all guns other then for military use? (UK, to name one) then in nations where they are legal, such as the US?

By the way, according to the supreme court, the only guaranteed right to bear arms is if you are part of the militia, or the national guard as it's called now. Are you a member? If not, you don't have the fundamental right to bear arms. it's up to the state legislature, or congress.

How about you actually read the constitution? Mayor Daley is perfectly within his rights to regulate guns.

there is no state in the union that bans guns. there are states that have made it harder to gain access or to own one, but no state in the US bans guns.
