Yes, I have flown in dreams very frequently, and very vividly. So vividly in fact that more than once on waking I was disoriented and felt that, sure, I had flown, like in real life. Weird feeling. Flying is one of the most vivid sensations I've ever had in a dream, and I've had it more than once.
Generally when I am flying I am gliding, not flapping wings. There's no physical effort involved, I'm just sort of coasting. (After watching Winged Migration, which I highly recommend, man does flying look like a lot of work!) At times I've even felt myself catching updrafts to go higher and then coast longer. But I've never taken off or landed, or I never remember either of those. Something to look forward to.

I'm an old man but I remember as if it were last night dreaming repeatedly as a child that I could just lean forward and will myself to lift off and move forward and fly. It was wonderful. I never went very high but could see people and things down below that I knew but never tried to talk to.
One wonders where dreams come from as this seems to be (by all the answers to the affirmative) common. I have been told by so called psychics that you are remembering a previous life where you were a bird. But I don't believe that. The dreams were so vivid and real that I wanted to do that while awake but never could.
There were no drugs around when I was a child. There was alcohol but I didn't drink. Freud told of dreams of flying back in the early 1900's. He interpreted them as wish fulfillment's of sexual fantasies. I don't believe that either. Such dreams only occurred as a child.

LOL I used to fly alot in my dreams. Either by swimming in the air or running and doing a super jump where I defy gravity as if I were on the moon. Or I could dot he super jump and go into the swimming in the middle.
I have heard that having this dream MEANS that you are GROWING. It could be true I guess.
I also find it very peculiar that so many people have this SAME type of dream...

I used to have flying dreams all the time. When I was a kid I used to jump up and just go. (No arm flapping or equipment or anything like that). Now the flying dreams I have require me to have a running start and jump into the air. I only glide for a little while and sink back down.
I guess it signifies my lack of knowledge of "impossible things" as a child. ☺

Yes, many times. I dream I am soaring way up high & looking down on buildings. It is a wonderful feeling, flying like a bird. I don't mind those dreams at all.
It's the nightmares that get to me.

Man I love to dream I'm flying! I dreamed I'm flying so many times I lost count. It's such a wonderful feeling. I just can't describe how good it makes me feel. But I have concluded that it means I want to get away from something or that I just want to escape from something. While I'm flying (like superman) I want to go faster and also I want to go higher but for some reason I just can't. It's really weird. Maybe one day God will let us fly like angels. : )

sometimes I do, but it's been awhile. I do it by getting in position and leaping like a frog. Then I fly for hundreds of yards and get 100ft or so in the air at a time. It's kind of cool, and I've never used drugs.

I seem to fly in most of my dreams.
The way I fly most is by just jumping and hoovering over things. I can lift my feet up off the ground and drift along. Then I wake up and am depressed that i cant do that.

yep it is a common thing about freedom (when I was younger) and doing alot in your dreams. Just believing in myself and I just fly as in Peter Pan or Superman would do, just by thought alone.
If you are serious in doing this more, I suggest a book from Amazon called Astral Travel
