I just saw another guy on here drawing that conclusion...does anyone realize that rapists don't rape because of sexual frustration??

Some guys have a simplistic view of society. Others just like to blame someone else and a third set, really just haven't got a clue.
How could you think that a person who rapes is just doing it until an unfair law changes? Do they really feel they are being a patriot? They rape for the country? Idiots!
Of course my favourite is the person that is finding an excuse to blame the government, or society from rejecting them, like it is an availability problem. Would they say "I wouldn't shoot people on the street if I was allowed to shoot people at the border!
Or as a guy am I just lacking any level of self control and I have a need to hurt?
Guys rape because they seek to exert power during the act of sex. They don't rape because of some economic supply and demand issue or a regulatory problem.
Rape is about violence, power a desire to force them self onto someone to take something, to hurt, not because "they couldn't get any".

I do not know why some men think that legalizing one crime will reduce another. You and every other woman here, needs to know; just because rape can be about power and control does not mean it is not also about sex. According to your analogy, men give prostitutes money for some other reason than sex. Of course not! Men give money to prostitutes to get sex, not to give them money. Men rape women to get sex and use power and control to do it. If you social scientist do not see this distinction, then the problem will just be talked about, with no solution in sight. Some one mentioned " date rape " here. This is a prime example of what I am talking about. You can not tell me that on a date, a mans motives change from wanting sex to wanting power over a woman in an eye blink. You need to stop taking these Susan Brownmiller ideas on rape as scientifically valid. To say, as she does " that every male is consciously suppressing every female by rape " is not only not true, but leads to antagonism between the sexes and obfuscates the problem.

I agree with you. I imagine people think legalizing prostitution will decrease the amount of rapes because men will have sex available on a ready basis. But men who rape do it for the power and control trip. It's totally messed up and not the same thing at all.

basically because of the fact prostitution is unlawful would not advise each and every guy would not already have get entry to to them. each and every telephone e book ever printed has them indexed. heavily. they're called "escorts." Legalizing prostitution would not legalize crimes committed against them, beating or spitting on them remains attack. each and each guy has a similar possibilities as anybody else to locate a lover they in good shape with, or to settle for one that may no longer. in the event that they desire "different" issues, then they could locate somebody who needs those issues, as properly. regardless of if or no longer that individual costs for their centers isn't appropriate. As for legalization reducing rape, this is ridiculous. Rape isn't approximately intercourse. that is approximately administration and humiliation. the only reason prostitutes are lots greater probably to be raped is by technique of the fact they gets right into a automobile with a stranger, and, as a result, are uncomplicated targets of threat.

I don't necesarrilly think it will cause the decrease in rapes but it will definitely make prostitution safer and will drop the amount of rapes that happen in that profession. With prostitution regulated, they wouldn't have to work on dark, crime riddled street corners but rather be safe in a guarded building. It would be cleaner hygien-wise. Regulating prostitution would not stop all the street hustling but it would definitely help the hustlers who wanted the help. Nothing will help the crack whores though, they wouldn't enter a regulated prostitution ring if their life depended on it, and for the most part, it does.

You are making too many conclusions without fact to back it up. Not all rapists commit the crime for the same reasons. While the decrease would be very small indeed, it would exist. I do not believe it to be sufficient to warrant legalizing prostitution. A better reason for legalization would be disease control. Strict licensing and testing would have to be done. That would cost money...more money than most prostitutes could bring in to make it economically viable. Consider Civil War history. By regulating prostitution, more troops were healthy enough to fight. STD's killed many soldiers.

Experts say rape is a power thing. If not rapists would prefer prostitutes. I agree.

They must be ignorant because in fact legalizing prostitution will increase rape. Prostitutes probably get raped alot because of the nature of their business.

it will decrease rape because many prostitutes are raped- and yes its not about sexual feelings, its about rage.
but the sex workers will be protected via security in the brothels and they will be able to report abuse without fear of legal consequences or social stigma where their attacker will go free

They don't understand what they are saying. Rape has very little to do with the act of sex itself. And the individuals who would make such statements obviously are not aware of this fact. Also their are prostitutes who are raped daily. Making it legal is not going to keep them from being raped. God bless****
