With cheerleading you are more involved with sporting events and you should be good at tumbling, stunting, and you must be sharp and loud...you also have to be coordinated and able to dance. ..The drill team also competes but in dance competitions which don't include all the tumbling and stunting, and of course no cheering. A drill team is a group of girls that perform dance routines and kick lines. They usually perform during half-times at football games accompanied by the band. Think of what you are best at and what group you think you would get along with better? What fits your personality? I used to be a cheerleader and really loved it,...I still work as a judge for cheerleading tryouts and help out with various events/competitions. They are both hard work and require alot of dedication....Good Luck and Happy New Year!!!

Cheerleaders use pompoms and do jumps and lifts and cheers. A drill team is more about arm and hand movements to music or a beat.
