I am a guy and I'm albino white. I'm not sure how to handle it. (Ghost white!)
I've thought about going tanning, but it seems expensive and high maintanance, and I'm worried about cancer. I actually did try tanning everyday for a while, and I didn't get dark very fast, and I got a few more moles.
I've tried the spray-on-mistic tan stuff, but it's also expensive, it doesn't look great, requires a lot of maintanance, and sometimes stains my clothes.
Should I just accept the fact that I am ghastly pale? Should I really try to budget to use those expensive tanning beds and use it less frequently? Should I just stop complaining and use the mistic, even though it's horribly annoying?
Being very white looks okay on girls (think Nicole Kidman), but on guys, it always looks terrible, right? All advice appreciated!

Also, when I used the tanning beds everyday before, I used the cheap ones. The place said if I came in everyday and used cheap ones, I'd get a better tan than if I just occasionally used expensive ones, and it would cost less (they said).

To the person who said to where light colors:
I think it actually makes me looked more washed out to wear light colors. I have dark hair and eyebrows, so when that is the darkest thing on me, it makes my skin look extra white.
To the person who told me to make peace:
But I want to increase my dating options. They aren't bad now, and I can get laid easily, I suppose, but think it might help finding a relationship.
Also, I am part Irish, and I have the red-head white skin, but my features aren't Irish at all and I don't have red hair. So, I'm not sure if making peace works!

I'm similarly pale, as is my brother, and we have both made peace with our skin tone. That being said, please do not tan, ever. The spray on tan makes everyone look like an Oompa Loompa and the tanning beds are dangerous. And never leave the house without sunscreen. Because you're so pale, if you tan too often your skin will crack like aged vinyl once you reach forty.

If you go to the right tanning place you don't have to pay more to get a good tan. It's just hard to tell you where to go you know. I pay $30 a month where i go, I have tanned here before but I just started again after about.... 5 months of no tanning. I was pretty white when I started about 1 1/2 weeks ago and I can tell a good difference already.
The mystic tan I have used before was a clear solution that doesn't stain clothing. You most likely used the bronze solution, I would see if someone offers the clear solution in your area. It can be a lot of maintenance trying to stay tan but if that is what makes you feel good more power to you.
I worry about cancer as well but that surely doesn't stop me from going out in the summer as much as I can. During the summer if it gets warm enough where you are, try to spend a lot of time outside with your shirt off so you can build yourself a better base tan and then once it gets colder and you go to a tanning salon you should tan easier.
But if you're like me, I work pretty much the whole day the sun is out, except for the weekends, so I get stuck going tanning!
It doesn't look gross on guys when they're white. Well, some, but if you have other great aspects that look good, and a good personality, it's not deter a woman. Well not the RIGHT woman anyway!

Difficult situation, i'll say that for you. But there must be a way to figure this out. Try buying tanning lotions, that darken skin without having to go in the sun. Besides men don't look so bad if they're pale. Good luck. Also you should try coming down to Texas, sun basically everday. Swimming during the summer helps, too.

I'm albino white too, and trust me i tried everything tanning, sprays, ect. But i think I'm going to just stay pale. It makes you different from others, but in a good way, and you won't get skin cancer if you don't go tanning. I really like pale guys, alot more then tan guys because i can sorta relate, especially if they have dark hair, so sexy! So don't change, their are other people who look albino too. And don't fall for that tan always looks better crap, stay pale.
Hope i helped, and have a good new years :)

I too, have a very fair complexion. your probably going to just have to suck it up and realize theres not much you can do about it. I tried everything as well, tanning and spray on and the like all through high school. I hated the orange look you get from the mystic tan and hated the skin damage and time that normal tanning took. Ive just started to realize that it doesnt really matter that much. I could have spent my time and money alot better, $30+ a month on tanning for my entire high school years...thats a pretty big downpayment on a car or something.
If you think you are going to "look better" and it will improve how people see you, then you need to realize that if people are that shallow that they judge you on how good of a tan you have, then they are going to be criticizing you every time you go out, whether its your clothes or hair or your car or whatever. Shallow people is what im trying to reinforce. You dont need them. There are plenty of people who wont judge you by what you wear or what you look like out there.

Wear light clothing and you won't look so pale. Wear light tan or whit khakis with white shirts. For more formal occasions, wear a white suite with a red tie. People won't notice that your skin is pale against the light clothing. Plus, they'll think you have a cool style.

Hey, i dont think you should use those tanning beds. i think they're bad for you. Use the fake stuff, that you buy from shops etc. Try and get the one with like moisturizer in them. I'm 'olive' so i dont really need to tan etc. but when i do i become very dark. I tried this tanning stuff ones ill tell u what its called. the brand is 'Palmers' cocoa butter bronze... its a sunless tanner and instant bronzer.. is really good. and smells nice too. but yeah i dont even no wat country ur from. ahaha
