What are you interested in and when will you be here and how long can you stay? Not really an answer to your question is it. We have tubing down the Salt River, gambling, Sedona (Slide Rock), The Carefree Arts and Wine festival, even in the off season you can take a ride up the ski lift at Sunrise Park Resort in Greer, Hot Air balloon rides. I guess it just depends on what you consider cool and fun.
Hope you have a fun trip!
I attached a site you might want to look through.

I'm actually from Tucson, but living there for 14 years I've been to Phoenix plenty. Castles and Coasters is a wonderful little amusement park to visit, and the Arizona Mills Mall is a lot of fun. Also, if you're going to be in the Phoenix area, it is worth it to make a trip to Sedona...it's beautiful. Flagstaff is just a short drive away, too, which is a gorgeous college town. Have a wonderful trip!

Sedona is beautiful. If you want to got to Norther Az for a day or 2 you could go to Cameron on the Navajo reservation (great Navajo Tacos and the biggest gift shop I've ever seen. Lots of hand made jewelry). Along the road from Cameron to Flagstaff is a little detour that takes you to Wapaki (sp???) Ruins and Sunset Crater. Also in Flagstaff in Lowell Observatory where Pluto was discovered and they mapped the moon for the first maned moon mission. They have a great tour during the day. But at night during the full moon they do a night tour and let you look through the telescope.

Well, you do have to see the Grand Canyon, but you can make the trip up there more interesting than just shooting up I-17 by taking the long route - go there by way of Lake Pleasant (a lake with cactus in the middle of the desert) Cottonwood (a beautiful, quaint town, with gorgeous trees), Jerome (an old copper mining town, partly a preserved ghost town), Sedona (possibly the prettiest town in the United States), and Flagstaff (a terrific town with a great college atmosphere.)

Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, The Crater. There are plenty of outback style tours as well. The pink jeep tours are pretty good. Up near the Grand Canyon there is a remote Indian Village reservation that has some beautiful scenary.

LOL...I stay in Glendale and it takes me below 2 minutes to get to Phoenix because of the fact I stay very on the ingredient of the place the two cities border one yet another. As a well-known rule, in case you desire to pass everywhere interior the metro Phoenix area, assume 40 5 minutes of using time. From the place i'm, it takes approximately 40 5 minutes to get to Scottsdale, Mesa, marvel or Goodyear to pass to pals and kin. the city sprawls for many, many miles.

there is the out of africa wildlife zoo which is in camp verde, between flagstaff and phoenix....you could try to get tickets to a phoenix suns game if you like basketball....you could go see sunset crater in flagstaff which is an extinct(i think volcano), or meteor crater outside flagstaff which is where the high meteor hit, thats pretty cool...ummm, i think they still have the biosphere attraction down in tucson...theres always some party at ASU you could go to...hmm, depends on what you like to do.
