Governments will not have reason for asking for extra budget (in the name of defence which they will use for something else). Defence industries will collapse overnight, loss of money and jobs for many. No research and development (for defence industry) will means no by-products from this area (which can be use commercially eg velcro, zippo lighters, armour-proof vests etc). Governments will have no more reason to distract their people from their domestic troubles.
