hold menu and the middle button until it resets.

hold down the play, circular, and menu button with the hold switch on for about five seconds or more.
that should unlock any iPod, especially mine. lol i have a nano
if that doesn't work, throw it up against a wall like i did too.

Mine froze recently and I just let the battery run out and then recharged it.

when my shuffle froze. we took it back 2 where we got it, and they said it broke. u could also reset it

plug it up.
press play and the middle button.
smash it.
