When you plug in your MP3 player, window will treat it as a removable drive and it will assign a letter to it just like a normal drive. My guess is that your MP3 player is the G drive on your PC.

Does your Mp3 player have software that came with it? Sometimes your Pc has trouble recognizing what you plug in for what it is because it soen't have the software for that item. Go to My Computer and try to open drive G--see whats in it... if you have music on your player it should show at least that space is being used on that drive. If you still don't find out anything useful, , and don't have software for you Mp3, try a music player, like Musicmatch Jukebox. It has a great Mp3 interactive function (I couldn't survive without it). And as for software, you might try looking for it online--Run a search for "(your Mp3 make and model # here) application software".
Good Luck

I think your G drive IS your player. When you plug in your mp3 player it will show up as your G drive in My computer. When you unplug it, your G drive goes away. This is because your PC treats your ipod as an external hard drive.

I'm a shuffler! But when I get a new album I'm really psyched about I eliminate distractions and listen to it in full sequential order. For some albums (dark side of the moon) I only do that. My first question was about punk bands. I do hate that. Unfortunately, no. It's been quiet. Them Crooked Vultures - Dead End Friends
