You need to start the install without the USB plugged in. When it says connect USB then plug it in. In alot of install programs there are glitches like this one: It expects you to plug it in when it says and not before or after.

To install any usb devices, you have to install the driver first without the device connected to the PC. You only connect the device to the usb port only when the installation asked for it or after the installation is finished. Now, you need to go Device manager and delete your Printer from the list and don't reboot Windows when it asked you to. Next uninstall the printer software/driver and shutdown your pc. Disconnect your printer if it's still connected to the pc. Turn on the pc and put the install disc in your cd\dvd drive to start the installation. Connect and turn on your printer ONLY when it asked you to. If the installation process finished without asking for your printer, it's ok, you can connect/turn it on afterwards. Now, Windows should be able to detect and install the driver for your printer.

Connect the printer to a different USB port, and make sure it is at the back of the computer.

Then restart the somputer, as soon as the computer boots, it will find the printer, then you can install it on the computer.

you have to load the driver disc in before you connect the printer. do not connect the printer until the instructions tell you to, connecting the printer first will most likely cause errors in the install. hope this helps
