hi there
Adult size: Ball Pythons are a small to medium size python with adults ranging from 3 to 5 feet, females are generally larger and heavier bodied than males. A monster female may approach six feet and is a very impressive animal.
Life Span: Captive Life Span of 20 - 30 years (record - 48 years).
Temperament: They are docile and can be shy and very reluctant to bite. They achieved the name ball python because of their habit of curling into a ball if threatened. They are crepuscular.
Substrate: Aspen bedding, shredded cypress or fir bark, dry cypress mulch and newspaper. Driftwood or a decorative rock should be added to aid the snake during its shed. Provide a climbing branch or two, some fake greenery, a hide box and a large water bowl for soaking. Daytime temperature of 80-90F at the warm end dropping to 73-75F at night. Under-tank heat pad are preferred over an overhead basking light.

The largest ball python I ever owned was a little under six feet long. The other posters are correct--five feet is about the tops that most of them get. I've seldom seen any 3 foot adults, though. Most run around four in my experience.

I have had many ball pythons and has raised them.. They will grow to 7-8 feet. females pythons usally gets a bit longer then the male python. They are very friendly snakes. They are even cuter when they are babies and they just curl up in the palm of your hand.

4 - 5 foot and obese in assessment to corn snakes, etc !!! And in basic terms for greater documents BP's like temps of ninety-a hundred ranges F, want smaller ingredients like 4 - 5 inch mice their total lives ( DOA of path - freshly killed or frozen thawed ) mine will each so often consume 3 mice in a one or 2 day feeding then no longer consume for weeks or according to danger a month ( that's totally advantageous for BP's & maximum different healthful snakes ) & they like consuming around night nightfall time. BP's are between the neatest snakes... regularly mellow / laid lower back ... tho no longer continually, surprisingly while hungry or dealt with too lots :) !!! Take Care
