iluvcats5 and STEVE A are right. bachelor buttons also known as corn flower technically centaurea, an age old cottage garden favorite and used as a medicinal herb as well.
I found many sites, to many to recommend just a few. Search bachelor button, corn flower, centaurea, or even knapweed. Gardeners Path has some good pictures.

Hi! -- those flowers are most likely decorative only.
Painters, especially decorative artists, are allowed something called "artistic license," which means that they are allowed to
move into the realm of fantasy in certain cases. It means that there is nothing that requires them to work within guidelines set by the people who categorize things .... like flowers or .... say, stars and snowflakes . This is true in decorative art, rather than representational. It means that they are allowed to draw / paint anything they wish for the sake of a decorative efffect.
On the other hand, if they were making botanical paintings or drawings, they would be required to stick to the thing Mother Nature designed .... the leaves, where they are put on the stem, the flowers true shape, the size of the plant . It is the art of illustration rather than decoration. I hope this proves useful to you.
Peace

The flowers on the painted cup are known as china asters. The bontanical name is Callistephus chinensis. Callistephus meaning "beautifully crowned" and chinensis meaning "of China". Do an image search to see what beautiful flowers these are. I'm a zone 6a and I've grown these before. They are an annual here and are prone to disease but can be successfully grown under the right conditions.

My best guess would be that they're a nice mix of roses and chrysanthemums. But I'm not an expert on this sort of thing-

the pink ones look like carnations due to the spear shaped leaf, the blues are probably cornflower as they will be that colour(i haven't seen blue carnations or chrysanthemums) - the white one could possibly be a dahlia due to the petal size and smaller ovary area or just the artists depiction of a white chrysanthemum

I think the artist was creating these flowers from his imagination. The pink ones look like carnations, the white look like peonies. The others look like chrysanthemums but the colors of these flowers do not seem true.

My guess is bachelor button or cornflower:

Jai is correct though: The artist has been using his imagination on some of the flower designs. He might be including traits of other flowers and perhaps even sprucing up the intensity of the color of the blossoms.
