>i am left handed and sick of all the inventions out there that are only for right handers. if this is a country of equality, part of equality should be makeing sure all of us are equally safe. so many left handers die when they use equiptment made for right handers only. there is no reason good enough to only make stuff for right handers.

It is not the government that is responsible. It is the companies that produce the products. I am left handed and have done some research on this. In history before toilet paper, people would wipe their rear end with their left hand. Hence we present our right hand when greeting someone as to not offend them with the dirty hand. There are companies that cater to left handed people. You just have to find them.

Yes, I admire him greatly but this letter started out as I'm 76 and I'm tired seven years ago. Some people including Bill say he didn't write it but whoever did was hitting on all their cylinders. I liked it then and it's still true today. Now I'm going to get a violation notice for agreeing with what's said by everyone else, that's whats been happening ever since I signed on about a week ago. Whoever got it in for me, why don't you just send me a email. My box is open. I got nothing to hide.

I'm left handed also, but thats a really big demand. But fundamentally, you can't force businesses to make products. Only through consumer demand would they do it.

I suppose a federal court could rule that every right handed tool must have an alternate version (like they ruled that paper money is unfair to the blind since theres no way to differentiate). I doubt it would go through Congress, the courts are the best way.

Unfortunately, lefties are not an oppressed minority and have not banded togeher to hire a lobbyist to get Congress to act, and it is unlikely anyone every will. Big Business decided on their own what they will make and how they will make and market it. They have no obligation to accomodate a minority by producing both left and right hand versions of a product. They are in the business of making money and producing for the monirity is not cost effective for them.

Since less than 3 percent of us are lefties, it's not likely that there will be any legal changes in our favor. Most of us manage to compensate well enough in a right-handed world, so i doubt if there is much need to make those changes for us There are lots of gadgets and such for us lefties such as left-handed scissors, etc.

there's no reason for any NEW laws

the government shouldn't have to rule over every aspect of our lives.

private enterprise (if it were profitable) would take care of these inventions -- no need for the government to force manufacturers to make special things for left handers.

i am sorry for your inconvenience but asking the government to step in on this is ridiculous.

open up a left handed store like ned flanders did.

why don't you right to manufactures. This is a profit and service driven economy. Involving the government is a little too much involvement for my taste. Maybe you can ask the Chinese government who does control their manufacturing.

I DON'T BELIEVE WE WOULD NEED A LAW FOR SUCH A SITUATION BUT RATHER IT WOULD BE UP TO MANUFACTURERS TO ALTER SOME OF THEIR PRODUCTS SO AS TO MAKE THEM MORE USER FRIENDLY TO LEFTIES. YOU DO MAKE A VALID POINT HERE!
