Where do you fit in personality-wise?

I was accepted to 2 Big Ten colleges. I went to those places, and figured out that I really didn't fit in. I went to a highly-academic college with 800, and loved it (and got a great education there too).

Finally --

After you get your first job, or after you get into grad school, no one cares where you went to college, or your grades when you were there. If you get a big-name diploma, it will help you with your first job, or get into a better grad school, but that's it.

Heck, Bill Gates, Micheal Dell, Steve Jobs, Dave Thomas, Richard Branson... the list continues of great business leaders who didn't have a college degree when they made it big (Dell went back as a billionaire, and finished at U of Texas).

Hi,

I suggest your looking up the Gourman Report which ranks colleges on different criteria and uses the majors to list them. I used to be an executive recruiter and one of my clients told me about the books Dr. Gourman wrote. The company, a Fortune 100, uses his books as a hiring criteria.

At one time, I specialized in attorneys and the major law firms I dealt with also used these books. Unless an associate attorney graduated from a top ranked law school, had an excellent class standing and met other criteria, these firms would not grant an interview. I had a candidate who was number one in his law school class and met all of the other criteria, but I could not get him an interview with the major law firms because his school had a very low ranking.

Your local public library and colleges should have a copy of his books.

Unfortunately, most high schools do not tell students about the Gourman reports.

I wish you well in your career.

Forget the Business Degree. Go to Hyles-Anderson College in Crownpoint, Indiana and become a preacher.

New York University is AMAZING, considering I went there for business. It is in the heart of the city, and everyone there is very nice.
