Shouldn't you be asking this question in the Computing section?

I remember in the beginning of broadband service, where ISPs would provide the option of dialup access if you were away from your broadband service.

With the arrival of hotspots, fewer broadband ISPs make dialup access available. Can't say I know about Verizon FiOS. I'm waiting for them to fire up the fiber in my town.
