Poor old soccer no doubt about it. It's the #1 sport in the world except in the US and Canada.

The US held the World Cup and the Women's Olympics which the US won the gold and the buzz lasted all of a month maybe.

Since then the women's league has folded and the MLS is barely hanging in there.

Volleyball...and not the pic nic variety. I'm talking about 6 on 6 hardcourt indoor volleyball played by professionals. Have you ever seen it played on a really hight level? It takes a lot of power and finesse in movement to do it right. Not everyone can backset a ball across the net so smoothly so that you can read the words on the ball as it's being passed. Seeing someone spike a ball down at someone shoe laces or diving for a pancake did to save a play. Go to a good D1 college match and see what I mean.

To many foreigners, especially Europeans, they discount baseball, possibly the finest game played. To Americans, the most underrated sport is soccer, a wonderful game with grace and style. Hockey tends to be regional with a fan base mostly in the north and in Canada. How Raleigh, NC celebrated the Stanley Cup, I do not know. No knock on Raleigh or the South but hockey is not an important game when you live in ACC basketball country.

Rodeo. It started here in the US on ranches (and to all you animal lovers, every event in rodeo with the exception of bullriding serves a purpose on a ranch). You have to pay to compete, you only get paid if your in the top and it takes an athelete to jump from a running horse to a steer and wrestle it down.

I think volleyball is very underrated. I don't think it's promoted enough.
Wish I could still play
