i think democrat or gop has little to do with the divide. 45% on left, 45% on right, 10% decide. maybe much less, really. most people know they don't know poop from shinola and they vote by tradition. the deciding group is hard to define. who are those guys?

I know plenty of Democrats that "have" and plenty of Republicans that "have not" and vice versa. I agree that many people vote without informing themselves completely about the issue however it is most often down the party lines and not down the income line.

The US was a nation known for helping thy neighbor and now the rich thumbs it's nose at the poor, and the divide is growing. Shame.

There are more issues which are influential on elections than just "have nots" and "have yachts." There are also many kinds of cultural questions which are also influential -- race relations, gender equality, sexual orientation equality, abortion, gun control, environmentalism, etc.

Its not only possible, its a fact of life. It would be nice to put in office anyone(no politicians or lawyers please) who would actually return running the country to its citizens instead of the weathly corporate interests that now run it. USA Inc.???

wrong. the republcains have about 42% and the democrats 35%. yes it is about have and have nots. republicans have the brains, the ambition, and patriotism. the liberal dems have none of these.
