It really depends on your boyfriend and what he prefers.

I personally prefer electric, but my brother prefers the manual shavers. He once tried an electric shaver and started getting a lot of bumps and went back to using the manual shaver.

I've used electric since I was in high school, so my skin is used to them.

If your bf wants to use electric, he may need to "train" his facial hairs to get used to the electric shaver. This may take a couple of weeks, but eventually he will get used to it and he will not get anymore bumps.

Electric shaver is the best option to shave with. Many people now a days are choosing electric shaver for their partner to give as a gift. If your boyfriend is still using a manual razor then he will love to have this as a gift. Electric razors also work fine with sensitive skins.

Bad if trying to shave if you are sweating. Like after a shower on a hot day can cause a rash. Well it did for me.

I also found that i had to press hard and go back and forwards to get a close shave, also causing rash. Might have been a shithouse electric shaver though.

If he's got sensitive skin then stay away from electric shavers - they are very irritating to the skin.

Some guys love them, others hate them. I tried one for some time, but my thick beard didn;t get trimmed cleanly, always had some hairs I had to use a razor on so I just went back to the regular razor-- plus it seems to take longer to shave with an electric than a manual one.

electric razors are okay for quick shaves on the m-f get ready for work routine. But, they can cause a rash or burn on your neck. Besides...they don't shave me that close. My g-friend complains about beard rash when I kiss her and rub across her face/neck if I haven't used a regular razor.
