My last pregnancy was induced because I requested it, and I guess I learned the hard way I WOULD NEVER DO IT AGAIN! It was way more painful than my 1st pregnancy. I only did it because my husband is a firefighter/paramedic and is gone for 24-48 hours at a time and I wanted to make sure he was there.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant (again) and WILL NOT induce...I told my hubbie I'm not going through that pain again and I don't care if you miss it this time.....

haha!!

It depends on the situation at the end of your pregnancy. Ideally, the doctor should go over your choices and you get to choose if you want to induce or not. Doctors like to induce because they know they will be the one on call at the hospital on the day they decide to induce you, plus if you start your induction in the early morning, it means most likely the doctor will be home for dinner and not working at night. It's a sad reason, but happens every day. The dangers of induction are that if your due date is slightly off, the baby may be born too early, and the medications they use for induction increases your chances of having a c-section. Choose the right doctor (or even better, a midwife!!) and your chances of having to be induced for the wrong reasons will be greatly decreased! Good luck!

I would never be induced unless I was at least a week or two overdue. Most of the time babies will come when they are ready, no matter how damn uncomfortable it its. When that pitocin hits, the labor is harder and more painful, plus there is a higher chance of cesareans. I just read an article that babies born by c-section have a higher chance of dying because the fluid doesn't come out of their lungs like vaginal deliveries. I've never met a mother who was not miserable during that last month, it's just part of nature. Doctors make too many medical interventions during labor, this is just another one of them.

Well, think about it... who else would there be? Would your best friend make that decision, and induce labor somehow?

My wife was induced after a solid week of "false" labor. After a full night of trying, the doc gave up and said it would be another week before we had a baby. Well, we had a baby 24 hours after that conversation. Go figure.

It depends on the circumstances of the pregnancy and how dilated you are. When I was having mine, I had wanted to get induced as soon as possible and had actually was about to set up the date. I was due on November 21st,my 40 week date, and wanted to get induced a week earlier. When i talked to my doctor at 34 weeks, she wanted to hold off because I hadnt dilated at all. Well it worked out that I had to be induced that week becuase I had toxemia.

Hullo! i'm a variety of brought about-exertions-ended-in-c-area human beings. Inducing exertions should not be finished for convenience. i replaced into having difficult contractions for a week and replaced into no longer able to maintain something down--no longer even water--without vomitting it back up. each and every nighttime I went to the wellness midsection for a shot of demerol and phenegrin to help get rid of the nausea and the soreness. it could final some hours, i could get a splash sleep and a splash nutrition, and could awaken for 20 hours of an analogous soreness before repeating the approach. The week after that each and every person started, they desperate to set off my exertions. It replaced into the twenty fourth. My due date were the sixteenth. whilst they brought about my exertions, I dialated immediately before each and every thing, and then stalled. My mom in no way dialated previous a 2. I dialated to a three.. and then a 4.. and then a 5... and then a 6... and then 7... I made it to eight... then in simple terms approximately to 9... and then i finished. as quickly as I hit 9, they advised me that the way I were going, the toddler ought to have been born by employing 6:30 or 7:00 that nighttime. i replaced into extremely joyful. At 10:00 they got here into my room and located that the toddler replaced into distressed and my physique refused to dialate any greater beneficial. they does no longer enable me push. i replaced into whisked away for my emergency C-area. have confidence me, it is not a thoroughly chuffed thank you to pass. the considered the surgical operation makes me ill to my abdomen, and whilst i think the scar and the stitches i choose for to throw up. to no longer point out i did no longer get to hold my toddler till 2 hours later. It replaced into each and every thing I in no way wanted, yet in some situations it incredibly is neccessary. My mom could have died in childbirth with me had she no longer had a C-area. 36 hours of difficult exertions, and he or she in basic terms reached 2 cm!!! optimistic, it is not appropriate. yet in some situations this is a lot safer than the alternative.

Yes but there are risks involved. There's a chance the induction won't work and then the doctor will have to do a c-section. That happened to my best friend.

doctors like to induce so they don't get called to attend the birth in the middle of the night. if you are not past term, do not allow yourself to be induced. avoid as much medical intervention in the birth as possible. doctors truly screw up births and shouldn't be allowed near most of them. everything they do makes labor harder, slower, more dangerous.

stay home until the contractions are very close together and then go to the hospital.

I'm sure it depends on the doctor. I know a few women who have chosen to have inductions and their doctors have allowed it.
