If you have tried over the counter remedies you can either try Proactive solution or see a dermatologist if your acne is that severe.

Two of my daughters had this too, my heart goes out to you.

Two suggestions... birth control pills will regulate your hormones and some people have good success with that regime. A few of my daughter's friends went on Accutane, BUT! it has a lot of potential side effects and is a pretty intense drug, so you want to be really careful about that one. It will cure your acne, but at a price. A good dermatologist will give you a low dose antibiotic for the maintenance, as well.

You should also find a really good spa and set a regular visit to have your pores cleaned and a good facial. It's really not something you can do at home as effectively. That will keep the scaring down to a minimum, worth every penny. Most good spas will tell you to come in once a month after your worst week (either before or after your period) on a regular basis, here in NY it costs $60-70 for an hour treatment. I know that's a lot of money, but it's still cheaper than a plastic surgeon to minimize the scars when you're in your twenty's.

I also would really suggest cutting the stress from you life, that does increase your acne! Easier said than done, I know, but if you're aware of it you can at least try to reduce it, right?

Good luck, hon, hang in there it will get better.

When I was a teen I got into the habit of taking really hot showers. This opens up the pores and really cleans them out. I also use Noxzema cream while in the shower, as I work in fast food and my face gets greasy. Good hygiene is one of the best ways to control acne.

go to a dermatologist if you can. If you aren't able to just wash your face at least twice a day, use moisturizer (it is a total myth that moisturization will make your skin oily and therefore more broken out) the moisturizer will help your skin, also apply something like boo boo zap from benefit cosmetics to your problem areas. Don't apply any medicine like that all over your face because you will cause your skin to get too dry.

You have to go to a dermatogilist.. the doctor will prescribe either/or antibiotics to take orally and /or to apply on your face.....
also.. many girls and women have been prescribed oral contraceptive pills by their dermatologists and gotten excellent results.. BUT NEVER START ANY MEDICATION WITHOUT YOUR DOCTORS PRESCRIPTION OR KNOWLEDGE..
Your dermatogist will give you creams and pills SPECIFIC TO YOU AGE, GENDER, BODY AND HEALTH STATUS.

i use the brand clinique
they give you 3 products that are pretty pricy
they give you a soap that lasts a year, then a liquid cleanser that has mild and another stronger one for adults
the third product depends if you have oily or dry skin and they give you a lotion or a gel(:
