Even if you know that the father will be a great dad, some girls and even full grown "women" feel they're the only ones who can make the decision.
i just don't get it.

the father has a dam right to know and help make the decisions with anything that involves HIS child.

they both made the baby, they should both be adult enough to decide what's going to happen.
and she should be WOMAN enough to confront him about it.

For the women that say the man is
ABUSIVE an a ALCOHOLIC'S

IF HE'S SUCH AN ABUSIVE/ALCAHOLIC MAN, WHY WERE YOU WITH HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE?????????

MMMMMMMMM...to get pregnant???

It mite be her body but the baby is both of their's not just her's
And where i live the women must have the father's signature before they can have abortion?

THE FATHER HAS 100% RIGHT TO KNOW

Becasue the women always think they can just do it themselves. Some can, some cannot. The ones who cannot then go on to find the father and instead of her being a bad mother who cannot care for her child, she becomes the victim of a deadbeat dad and he is now the bad guy in the whole situation.
check out Maury or Springer some time, they have plenty of women who come on and tell the man a secret, very often the secret is this is your child. What follows is a bunch of people booing the guy and cheering the women for being so strong, forgetting that it was her fault he was not around in the first place.

I agree. Even if the guy is a drug addict he has a right to know. Maybe learning that he is going to be a father will be the push that he needs to clean himself up. If the mom decides to put the baby up for adoption she needs the permission of the father. There have been cases on the news where the father was not told about the baby and he was able to take the adoptive parents to court and they lost him after having him for 3 years.

i had a friend whose boyfriend was abusive and so she didn't tell him. women get sucked into relationships with abusive men and the loss of power is very gradual.

but hey - a guy who always wants to know if he's got a kid should not have sex with a woman until he marries her - and if he can't manage that, then he ought to use a condom every time.

you can't run around wishing things were 'fair.' that's what children do. you have to look at reality. the reality is a woman can be in total control of her pregnancy and a man works from that reality.

im not sure but i would never do such the thing, i believe the father has a right to be in the babys life also, unless he was a bad pperson and i felt as if he would hurt my child then no i probally wouldnt let him have any rights to see the baby without my supervision. they dont need the fathers signurature before they can have an abortion

You could say the same thing about the men sleeping with women who they aren't married to and would not tell them if they got pregnant. If you keep your pants on outside of marriage chances are you won't have to worry about babies you don't know about. Good luck.

Maybe because she's afraid the father of the baby will become aggressive, and try to harm her and/or the baby..... especially if he didn't want kids!!

i am assuming this happened to you, putting in the parts about abuse and alcoholism takes away the validity of your question. Go cry about it somewhere else.
