i have a nintendo ds but i dont know if a nintendo ds light take[play]game boy games?someone pleas tell me

A few discrepancies in some of the answers so here's the official line from www.nintendods.com:
"Nintendo DS Lite features a separate media port for Game Boy Advance cartridges, allowing you to play all your favorite Game Boy Advance games in single-player mode. "

Nintendo DS can play all Gameboy Advance games, but it can't play original Gameboy or Gameboy Color games. GBA games are the ones that are about half the size of the old ones.

i have a nintendo ds too and no im for certain that they cant play gameboy games but they can play the following games:Game boy advance and ds games

Nintendo DS + DS Lite = GBA and DS
GBA (SP) + GBA = GBA and GBC
GBC = GBC and GB
DS = DS games
GBA = Game Boy Advance
GBC = Game Boy color
GB= Game boy original

Just like the first ds, the light can play gameboy advance games ONLY.

it can if it has the slot. cuz my sister had the DS but the regualr one not the light one. and it can play gameboy color game boy advaced and nintendo DS games

Yes it can, it has everything the regular DS has except it is slimmer and has more features like a brighter screen.

Yes it can. I bought one for my daughter this Christmas. You have to remove a small piece from the game system since the GBG are larger.... have fun!
