There's no universal meaning. It depends on what snakes mean to you. Or they might mean nothing - sometimes things you think about or see during the day turn up, and they're really just filler.
I once had a very sexual dream about snakes, but only because I had been recently studying Freud and know that they were supposed to represent the penis.
These days I'm much more straightforward. If I want to dream about Penii, I do. No need to cloak them in snakeskin!
Or yeah, it might be Satan. I mean, hey, it's all satanic, right? He's everywhere, right? lol Or not.

To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream, signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. The snake may also be seen as phallic and thus symbolize dangerous and forbidden sexuality. The snake may also refer to a person around you who is callous, ruthless, and can't be trusted. As a positive symbol, snakes represent transformation, knowledge and wisdom. It is indicative of self-renewal and positive changes

Dreaming of snakes can indicate a great sensitivity to the enviroment that is around you. Your moods usually match those of who you are with or around. If the enviroment your around is light hearted, then you will be....if it is sad then you will be sad. Try to pay attention and see if you can notice that pattern.
Snakes mean transformation and transmutation (the shedding of their skin) and healing. Are you going through something new? Having changes in your life? Snakes in dreams are an indication of change. Also they indicate a creative change in your way of thinking.

I know what Freud would tell you....snakes are phallic. And in all honesty, I'm not sure that there isn't some truth to that theory.
Personally, I have nightmares about snakes because I'm terrified of them. Nothing to with sex at all, I simply fear the little buggers.

Generally, psychologists consider snakes to be a phallic symbol, and dreaming about snakes is symbolic of the penis. They'd say you feared sex, or felt threatened by men, or something like that.

Yes, it usually means you are thinking about sex (even if deep in your mind, but that it is very important to you or something really got to you that day) OR sensuality... the need to physically touch someone and feel care, whether sexual or not.

depends on what side of the board you are reading. some believe that dreaming of snakes refer to snake= phallic symbol, ergo new life, or birth.
some believe that dreaming of snakes refer to snake= spear, instrument of war/death, ergo, someone you know is going to die.
Take your pick
