I started working for Nook's Cranny, then I got layed off and was free. When do I start working again?

You don't work for Nook anymore after the beginning of the game. You need to find other ways of making money to pay off your mortgage. Fishing and selling fossils you find in the ground are good ways to start. Also try visiting other people's towns and planting their fruit in your town. Foreign fruits sell for 500 bells each, so you can make money pretty fast by planting lots of foreign fruit trees!

on da gamecube version of animal crossing once u get layed off dat is it u cant get da job back, but idk dat mite b da same on da nintendo ds version
