If they simply go along with the crowd and don't see what else is out there in terms of creativeness and technicality (such as songwriting) then yes. If they have no ear for talent then they deserve to be criticized.

I don't think there are "inferior" tastes to music. What may seem simple to me can be complex to them. A lot of people consider classical to be inferior, but it is very complex when you break it down, as is rap. I may not like some music, but there is no reason to make fun of people who listen to it.

Definitely.
Though music is personal taste, I cannot fathom how "bands" like Good Charlotte and "artists" like HILARY DUFF, Lohan, PCD and Danity Crap have fans.
